“As County Commissioner, I will bring an unwavering commitment to making a difference. I will exhibit transparency, accountability and integrity as I make decisions that are in the best interest of our community. During my time as County Commissioner, I will seek input from and engage with the community through active listening in order to inform a progressive vision for the overall growth of Ingham County.”
Rooted in Community, Growing Our Future
For over two decades, my family and I have resided in the Williamston/Okemos community. I am grateful for the years we have spent enjoying the beautiful parks, learning in first-class school districts, and supporting locally-owned businesses. I am motivated to become involved in community initiatives to ensure these qualities remain and encourage continued improvements and expansions of the place we call home.
My candidacy for County Commissioner follows my 28-year career in public education. My tenure as an educator provided me with valuable learning experiences that taught me to communicate effectively, problem solve, allocate resources responsibly and reform practices to ensure the needs of educators and diverse learners were met. My commitment to inclusivity, compassion and excellence in schools provided me endless opportunities to advocate for adequate resources for educators and students.
My attachment to the community and my aspiration to support and advocate for others has led me to run for public office to serve my constituents. I will advocate for policies and initiatives that are beneficial to all of us. I will collaborate with local leaders, key stakeholders, businesses, and residents to address important issues and find solutions that will benefit the majority. I believe high quality governance demands a willingness to listen to diverse perspectives, work collaboratively with others, and prioritize the safety, health and overall well-being of Ingham County residents.
